Many people confuse achieving day-to-day business goals with performing truly satisfying work.

A wake-up call can come in the form of a mission: an irresistible force that compels people to step out, step up, and take on a challenge. It is as if they suddenly recognize what they are meant to do and cannot ignore it any longer. Sometimes it takes a trauma, large or small, to jolt people into taking a hard look at their lives. Such an awakening may be the result of a heart attack, the loss of a loved one, or a world tragedy. 

In my case, it was all of the above. I woke up one day and decided that I want to engage in truly meaningful, engaging projects - and thus was the beginning of 

Pacific Coast Consulting. I wanted to stand on my own two feet as a female, BIPOC entrepreneur and bring value to organisations in my own unique style.

Working styles typically fall into four unique types: idea oriented, logical, detail oriented and supportive. I am a balance of all 4 work styles. I am not the consultant who takes away a statement of work and comes back weeks or months later with a finished product. I absolutely enjoy collaborating with product sponsors, product owners and project teams to bring the ideas to life.

In my personal life, I am a mother of two rambunctious children: Armaan and Asha. They keep me busy, entertained, and motivated to do my best. I hope to be a mother they can be proud of - through the work/projects I do, as well as leading by example (work ethic, work-life balance, ability to prioritize what is important). 

They are also another reason I started Pacific Coast Consulting. I wanted to be able to work hard and play hard with them, without any rigid schedules.

This quote is a great reminder that finding balance in life is not a passive pursuit, but an active process. As a working mom, it's important to create a balance that works for me and my family, and that may look different for each individual and family. And Pacific Coast Consulting allows me to find that balance in a sustainable way.
